David J. Byrd, the National Director for the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) announced earlier this month that SourceMark, LLC, located in Franklin, Tennessee, is the awardee of the 2020 MBDA Minority Health Products and Services Firm of the Year Award.
This award is presented to a minority-owned firm that has improved the quality and delivery of healthcare through innovation.
The MBDA National Minority Enterprise Development Week Awards are the highest level of national recognition that a U.S. minority-owned firm can receive from the U.S. Department of Commerce. This year, MBDA will honor all award winners in a virtual “How I Did It” interview series that will showcase their innovative solutions to overcoming obstacles and thriving under challenging circumstances.
Byrd stated, “On behalf of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, I applaud SourceMark, LLC’s accomplishments, dedication, and continuous drive for success. We recognize the company’s creativity, ambition, and determination as an example of the contributions minority-owned enterprises make to our economy”.
The National Minority Enterprise Development Week will be celebrated from September 14-19, 2020. This virtual celebration provides the opportunity for Atty. Richard Manson, President, SourceMark, LLC to accept this prestigious recognition during the 2020 National MED Week.
Manson has a strong sense of devotion to a myriad of community organizations inclusive of Chairman of the U.S. Ethics Committee of the U.S. Track and Field, board member to General Hospital, board member to the TMSDC Education Foundation, legal counsel, board member, and Vice Chairman of the TSMSDC’s MBEIC. He currently serves Chairman of the Board of Directors of the 116-year-old Citizens Savings Bank and Trust – the first minority-owned bank in Tennessee, and the oldest continuously operating minority financial institution in the United States.
