CONGRESS ASKS 37 BANKS TO PROVIDE DIVERSITY DATA: House Financial Services
Committee chairwoman Maxine Waters and House Financial Services Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion chairwoman Joyce Beatty sent letters to ask 37 banks to quantify their inclusion and diversity policies from 2015 to 2019.

FEDEX INVESTING $450M MORE IN $1B MEMPHIS HUB MODERNIZATION:
During the next six years, in addition to outfitting

its hub with new technology systems, FedEx will build a new sort facility and a new bulk truckload building in response to the growth in e-commerce.

Based at the Memphis International Airport, the Memphis hub processes 47% of FedEx’s daily package volume, and the expansion should be complete in 2025.

TOURISM IN TENNESSEE OUTPACES THE NATION WITH $22 BILLION IN TRAVEL SPENDING AND 119 MILLION VISITORS IN 2018: Tennessee saw 119 million domestic visitors in 2018, up 5.1 percent from 113 million the previous year and hit a record-high $22 billion in domestic and international travel spending. Travelers in Tennessee spend an estimated $60 million per day.

FORD TO INVEST $550M AT ITS LOUISVILLE ASSEMBLY PLANT: Ford Motor Co. announced  it will invest $550 million to install new equipment and modernize the Louisville Assembly Plant, a move made to prepare for the launch of its new Escape and Lincoln Corsair models.

HENKEL AND ALPHA PARTNER FOR $130 MILLION INVESTMENT IN BOWLING GREEN: Gov. Matt Bevin announced Henkel, a manufacturer of laundry and home care, beauty care and adhesive products, will partner with its packaging supplier ALPLA Inc. on a $130 million-plus investment to enhance laundry detergent production in Bowling Green, a project expected to create up to 60 full-time jobs.

WEST VIRGINIA CREDIT UNION LANDS CONTRACT TO SERVE STATE’S MEDICAL MARIJUANA BUSINESS: A small credit union has landed a potentially big medical marijuana banking contract with the state of West Virginia. West Virginia State Treasurer John Perdue said that the $35.3 million Element Federal Credit Union in Charleston has been selected as the “apparent winning vendor for the Medical Cannabis Banking contract.”
