SmileDirectClub ANNOUNCES 2,010 NEW JOBS, $271M INVESTMENT IN NASHVILLE HQ:  The growth would more than double the five-year-old company’s presence in Music City, and represents an increase of more than 45 percent in its nationwide workforce.  The planned $217 million investment also comes as the company – valued at $3.2 billion last year – reportedly is considering making an initial public offering this summer.

BASF GOES 25 YEARS WITHOUT WORKER INJURY :  BASF’s Chattanooga plant on Amnicola Highway recently achieved 25 years with zero lost-time injuries, the longest running record for time without a lost time injury among the more than 400 members in the manufacturing sector of the Tennessee Safety and Health Council.

NUCOR CORP. TO INVEST $1.35B TO BUILDING KENTUCKY STEEL MILL, CREATING 400 JOBS:  Nucor Corp., the nation’s largest steel producer, will invest $1.35 billion to build a new sheet mill along the Ohio River in Meade County, creating 400 jobs over 15 years.

TOYOTA EXPANDING BUFFALO FACILITY, ADDING 123 JOBS:
A doubling of one production line and the addition of 123 jobs were announced Thursday by officials at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing facility in Buffalo in Putnam County.

EXPORT REPORT SHOWS CONSISTENT GROWTH AND DIVERSIFICATION OF WEST VIRGINIA ECONOMY: West Virginia exports
increased for the second year in a row, reaching $8.1 billion in 2018. The state outpaced the national average growth rate in 2018, as exports increased 14.2 percent, while the nation’s exports grew at just 7.6 percent.
