Access to Capital Resources

Through the MBDA Capital Readiness Program grant funding the NMSDC MBE Center for Accelerated Growth Innovation and Resiliency will strive to bridge the gap between capital connections and underserved MBE’s by providing the access to networks and tools needed to drive economic equity and build generational wealth. In addition, through the BCF, capital and -readiness programs are valuable to business owners of color operating supply chains.

Acres: Cultivating Equity in Black Agriculture

The Acres program (formerly known as the Black Farmers Equity Initiative) was established in 2022 by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in partnership with Cargill and is a 12-week program designed to help Black minority business enterprises (MBEs) in the agriculture industry grow their capacity to take on major national contracts with NMSDC corporate members.

The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) Amos Tuck, Kellogg Advanced Management Executive Program (AMEP) is a four-day immersive program that fosters growth for minority-owned businesses and University of Wisconsin – Madison looking to take things to the next level.

MBE Government Contracting Resources

The federal government holds the distinction of being the largest purchaser of goods and services globally, procuring a wide range of products and services such as software, building construction, financial services, and asset management. This vast procurement power presents a significant opportunity to promote equity and foster economic growth in underserved communities. However, it is concerning that less than 10 percent of federal agencies’ total eligible contracting dollars typically flow to small, disadvantaged businesses (SDB), a category that includes Black-owned, Latino-owned, and other minority-owned businesses.
